It is every Indian's right and duty to vote for electing their representatives and law makers of India. They also need help for resolving their issues related to immigration, taxation, protection and investment and need their voice to be heard. They are also interested and aware of Indian politics just like resident Indians are. This blog tries to explain the need for such voting, methods and news updates. NRI Voting Rights bill pasesd in Rajyasabha
The bill passed in upper house in Indian Parliament. However it does not mention any provisions on how to provide voting rights. Law minister in his previous interview mentioned that voters need to be physically present on the election day. It is not really possible for logical, logistical and financial reasons. So we have to continue our efforts until we get real voting rights. See more details of this bill at rediff and add your voice to our nri voting rights effort to get absentee voting rights.
